MonoChromeMonday - The Thai Rice Basket ...!!
This huge metal basket structure is symbol of Thailand traditional woven bamboo basket which is used to store the sticky rice which is bought out onto the table at each meal time and the Thai people help their selves to the rice.
This Traditional bamboo rice box is normally hand crafted using bamboo by the local people in the north of Thailand in Chiangmai. They do come in various shapes , sizes and colors and make good kitchen storage canisters to store pasta, flour, grains, and other dry food goods but the traditional one is plain bamboo color and in the exact shape as the photo in this post.
This year it was built in a lager metal scale and used in the Khon Kaen City Countdown all lit up and was diverting from different colors was a spectacular sight to see it changing from color to color. This is one of the colors it was changing to apart from many other colors which i would like to show you cause it was so beautiful lit up at night.

Thanks....it's like the Italians got to have bread on the table with every meal well the Thai's can't eat without there rice on the table :))
