Einride Unveils Self-Driving Truck!
Swedish technology company Einride unveils a self-driving, electric truck that is remotely controlled by drivers, is much smaller than heavy trucks and works in conjunction with innovative cargo terminals.
The company said in a statement on July 5, 2017 that "T-Pod" could reduce carbon dioxide emissions from transport of goods in Sweden by up to 60 per cent by 2030.
Robert Falck, CEO of Einride, said:
The brains of technology and transportation in the world have worked on the T-Pod architecture for more than a year, so it was overwhelming to see the positive response and support from customers and partners alike when we finally unveiled it at Almedalen.
T-Pod is about 23 feet long and has an operating weight of 20 tons. The prototype represents a major step towards Einride's ambition to deliver a complete transport system between Gothenburg-Helsingborg by 2020.
This transport system will include 200 T-Pod with associated freight terminals on the road, which means cost-free transportation to customers upon completion
It looks like it is alive!

If someone sees this coming towards them in the other lane, I wonder if calm or fear will be felt.
