Those Who Fly
Shackled by gravity,
Bound to the earth dreaming of flight,
Poor flightless bird surrounded by buzzards,
They have come to plague your mind
Grow the keyhole of sight,
You’re blessed with damnation
Bestowed by generations of pain and suffering
Ignite and burn your shadows free,
I will not treat them as slaves,
For that’s all they have ever been
Even darkness deserves a choice, a life
Water graves empty
The living dead in strife
While those who fly
Dance in the sky with wisdom
Fall from such great heights
Gain understanding for all sides
I have always been dark, I will always be light
let my wings caress the winds
fanning the flames of my burning desire
I'll reach out for the blue skies
staining the clouds with freedom
I'll be free from gravity
soaring on heights that bemuse the eagles
I'll be faster than lightening
faster than light
but I know
No matter how fast light travels
it will always find
that darkness has always been there before it
waiting...
still
I will be light

Your poem is so deep I was inspired to do this too. You're awesome @haileyscomet
Nice one here.
'soaring on heights that bemuse the eagles' my favourite line
👍👍Nice poetry
We yearn to get what we cannot have, and attempt what we cannot do, yet we forget, as above, so below.
Brilliant piece of work. This ought to be published somewhere.
Nice. voted.
Great ...
gravity is not the one that does not allow us to fly, it's our mind
I agree with you. The sky ain't the limit, the mind is.
I Love it !! Poetry is just beautiful !!
