Hello everyone!

So today I came across this contest by @goodybest where we've to share some defining memories from our life experience. Everyone has passed from certain moments which are etched on their memory forever and can't be removed. It can either be a happy or disturbing one.

The experience I'm about to share today is related to fire. Yes you've read correct it is about fire. It is somehow one of the most scariest things in whole world. It can erase everything from the scratch and destruction doesn't stop even after that.

It was an average summer day and my husband wasn't at home. I was cooking dinner in the kitchen and everything was doing just fine when I opened the drawer of cutlery. As I opened it, large flames of fire errupted my whole hand. It happened so sudden that I didn't even had time to think twice.

I then opened floor side cabinets and they were also full of fames. Everything inside them was on fire. I couldn't understand what was happening at the moment. My daughter saw this whole scenario and immediately pour a whole jug of water on it. But to our dismay it only get worse.

I tried to resonate the emergence of fire and in a moment I realized that the gas pipe to stove was leaking and it went straight on fire due to burning stove. The gas valve was inside the cabinet so whole area was filled with it. But the most scariest ingredient in this whole scenario was bottles of cooking oil which were in the cabinet. The immediately caught on fire and increased it by ten folds.

We all were soo scared and didn't know what to do. My husband was also not at home so I had to protect my children. I was willing to jump in fire to save my children and house from burning. So I put my hand in burning cabinet and turned off the gas valve. After this we all came out of kitchen and fire set down itself in some time. We were so shocked that we didn't even remember to call a fire brigade.

My children were so scared and they were crying hysterically. I tried to calm them but I was also trembling. My whole hand had burnt and even few on my hair also caught fire.

How it affected me!

At first I was so traumatised by this accident but then I realized that everything happen for a reason then I thanked Allah for saving our lives. From then I became very conscious about gas leakage. I take these following precautionary measures to prevent fire:

• Check all gas knobs and valves in houses.
• Incase of any gas smell, donot lit any light or fire.
• Open all windows in kitchen before going to bed.
• Strictly keep children away from stove.
• Work safely and attentively in kitchen.
