Calathea Ornata (also known as Calathea Pinstripe or Pinstripe Plant) is a beautiful plant with large green leaves with pink stripes. It is beautiful, but it can be a fickle plant and can be difficult to care for at times. We all know someone who has struggled to keep Calathea healthy, let alone alive. So and this guide, we'll look at what you can do to should these amazing, but stubborn, tropical plants healthy.

As I mentioned earlier, this plant likes to live in moist soil. This means that you should look for a soil that retains a lot of water. This way it can sit longer in moist soil and you won't have to water the plant as often. If you do not have soil that is designed to retain water, this is not a problem. You will need to water the plants frequently to keep the soil moist.

Since the soil needs to be moist most of the time, make sure to get a soil that can breathe when moist. If you find soil that becomes too heavy and compact, you may want to choose a different one. This soil will not allow any air to reach the roots and will slowly suffocate the plant. Mulch and/or mossy soil would be a great option for this, as it holds water and allows air to enter.

Calathea plants are tropical plants that grow on the ground in the shade of trees. This is their ideal sunlight exposure, so they should receive low to moderate sunlight throughout the day in your home. Place them in a bright room with thin curtains or some shade and you should be able to keep your plant happy. My Calathea Ornata is near a large south-facing window and receives moderate/indirect sunlight most of the day. When your calathea is exposed to direct sunlight, the sensitive leaves will begin to wilt and become sunburned.So in summary, place your Calathea Ornata in a low to medium bright location where it receives indirect sunlight.
