Health education with pictures 06: Rheumatoid nodules
In this series, I am going to provide some information about our health along with pictures of some commonly seen medical conditions. Today's topic is

These are small swellings in the skin. Found in a patient suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. More specifically, rheumatoid nodules are exclusively found in them who are RF or ACPA positive.
These nodules are usually found on the extensor surface (outer surface or back surface). Sometimes, there may be ulceration and secondary infection.
Note: Nodules may be found in chest x-ray too. That is different from cutaneous one.

Not necessarily. But it may be when there will be secondary infection following ulceration
