Micromax, Airtel launches 'India go' smartphone

Micromax Informatics launched its first Android Orio (Go Edition) smartphone Micromax 'Bharat Go' for Rs 2,399 on Tuesday in partnership with Bharti Airtel. The price of the Micromax 'India Go' market is Rs 4,399, but it is available with special cashback of Rs 2,000 under Airtel's 'My First Smartphone' initiative.

Google has built Android Orion (Go Edition) specifically for devices with a GB or less RAM. Micromax's chief marketing and commercial officer Shubhodip Pal said, "Android Oreo (Go Edition) is an attractive proposal for mobile-like economy like India."
There are several apps available in this VOLTE dual SIM device, including Gmail Go, Maps Go, Chrome, YouTube Go, Assist Go, Play Store and Gmail.

Vani Venkatesh, chief marketing officer of Bharti Airtel, said, "Android Go-powered devices like India Go provide customers the opportunity to upgrade to affordable smartphones, which provide a great experience."

'India Go' has a 4.5 inch screen, a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera, a GB DDR3 RAM and eight GB internal storage. It has a battery of 2,000 mAh.
