My entry to the architecturalphotography contest from @Juliank this week
Since the daily competition is about architecture I found this picture among a lot I took on a trip to Svalbard last year.
This pier lays in an old, deserted, mining village out in complete nowhere on one of the most remot places in the world.
Svalbard is an island that Norway and Russia has settelment on.
To day there are two cities on Svalbard, Longyear city that is Norwegian and Barentsburg that is Russian.
It takes about 5-6 hours with a snowmobile to travel between the two citys and just in the middel there is a small deserted town that the Russians build up for coal mining.
This town was about to fall appart and nature was claming it, but this pier in the picture was claiming for its exsistence.
So I thought that this must be a good contribution to the architect contest this week.

It is pleasant to realize that Norwegian and Russian cities are close to each other.
Yes, at Svalbard it is very close and so it is in north of Norway also.
Liked staying one night at Barentsburg and drinking vodka with the lokal Russians that lived there :)

The glaciers of Svalbard, are very popular with tourists in search of bays and sublime landscapes
This is awesome and you chose really great piece for Architectural Photography and the add on effect of this picture is the highlighting blue colour essence of this picture and the light image of the mountains is really eye-catching to watch. Architectural photography is more than simply choosing a subject and hitting the shutter release.It's more than just documenting a structure.You also have to put your heart in there when you take the shot.I strongly believe that you put your heart in there when you click your camera.
You rode almost 6 hours on a snowmobile to get there, that's quite a long & difficult journey.After that long hard journey, you shoot this masterpiece. Your love for photography is amazing.
