I hate the flue!!!!

in #norway8 years ago (edited)

As some of you might have noticed, I haven't made any post the last days and there is a good reason for that.
I have been hit by the flue and have been in bed since Friday until now.
It started after my Harley ride on Thursday where I was a bit cold because of the weather.
It is typical that this shit hits me just when the weekend shall start.
I had planed a hike in the woods with @Erlendgroseth from Friday to Saturday and to day, Sunday, I was planing to attend the start of the soccer season for my team FFK. But, everything went straight to h....

So, this is mye first day out of bed and it thought it was time to write a post here and what better to write about than the flue that makes my muscles and bones hurt.

The first thing to mention is that the flue and a common cold is two different things.
While the common cold comes with a variety of different viruses and bacteria, the flue comes from the flue virus.
And the flue hits you much harder than a cold and it actually kills a lot of people every year that have a low immune system.

So what is actually the flu:

  • The flue is an respiratory disease caused by the flue virus
  • Symptoms are fever, dry cough, muscles and joint pain and headache.
  • You can get a sore throat and dripping nose.
  • From you get infected it takes two to three days to break out.
  • Infections mainly via moist/drop infection, but also by air and contact.
  • The breakout last for about one week, but you can be tired for a couple of weeks.

How to avoid getting infected:

  • Stay clear of people that are sick
  • You can get a vaccine every year that you can take.
  • Have good hand hygiene
  • Keep your immune system in chip shape all the time by eating a healthy diet.
  • Make sure to get enough vitamin C and D

Well, that was it for this time folks!
I am getting well soon so I can go out riding my Harley and taking photos again.

Until next time, stay safe, warm and dry.
Kindest regards

That's it. You are done. Don't forget to "Power-Up" your STEEM if you want to use it for voting.

The more Steem Power you own, the more people will look at your blogs. It's like having a Lamborghini parked in your drive.

Med alle gode ønsker
@Ramta Reddington

Wow, i really loved the song <3, thank you @ramta ;)

hi @gyldenhorn happy to see you back.
It seems that you are too tired and your immune system is weakened by traveling too often, eventually getting sick. My advice, you should rest fully, until your health recovers. And do not forget to eat vegetables rich in vitamins. Hope you are healthy again friends. :) 😊

Thx a lot @Amuchtar I think it was my riding with not enough clothing that made me sick.
The las two rides were cold and I was freezing when I got back.
But, now the temperature is almost 18 degrees here so now the warmth is back.
And I shall remember my vitamins :)

We missed you mr @gyldenhorn.

I hope you can recover your health to resume the exercise of your hobbies and return to the community of steemit.

Thanks for clarifying the difference between cold and flu.

good recovery.

Best Regards.
@aminekad

Thx a lot @aminekad
I will be back on my feet in a day or two :)

Good recovery @gyldenhorn, In fact, this virus also has benefits, it strengthens the immune system by awakening the body's defenses. Also, when we feel sick, we feel the health and wellness we enjoyed in the days when we are healthy. For me, I do all the precautions and also from time to time I drink lemon and ginger juice with naturel honey this protects me from these seasonal diseases. image

That is so true @Gagago this virus also strengthen our body when the immunesystem kicks in.
I have taken a lot of ginger drinks all weekend :)

It is a very good remedy for flu especially it does not contain chemicals such as drugs.

Thank you very much @gagago.

Yes @aminekad, as you know ginger and honey have innumerable benefits for this reason have been mentioned in our holy book.
not at all, you're welcome ;)

Vitamin d and c are good suggestions. Add zinc and selenium to it and you won't get sick. You can actually stop the common cold with zinc lozenges at very high dosages of 75 mg. Don't do that every day, it will just cause trouble.

To get through the winter disease free:

Vitamin d 5000-10000 iu (125-250 mcg)
Vitamin c 3 grams daily
Zinc 15-25 mg
Selenium 200 mcg

Thx a lot for enriched my post @Funkit. I didn't know about the Zink.
Have to try this out next flue season :)

Glad your doing better, here is some chicken soup to make you better.Be sure to drink lots of fluids also.

Thx for the soup @Tbnfl4sun :)

Sorry you were ill. I hope this doesn't delay our run too much. :)

Haha only by a couple of days :)

Hello @gyldenhorn,

First I wish you a good recovery, many people get sick because of climate change in early spring.

I am among those who have noticed your absence in recent days and I wish to see you back very soon.

For the flu I also advise you to drink a glass of lemon with honey it can help you a little and gives you more energy.

Best Wishes @Redouanemez

Thx a lot @Redouanemez

It's great to enjoy this great article. You write with an incredible ability. Thank you for giving us tips for preventing the flu.

It's cool you sit on top of Harley 😎👌!

Have a wonderful day @gyldenhorn

Thx a lot @Seha76 I love my Harley :)

Forkjølelse er noe dritt. God bedring! Kan ikke si at jeg er helt overrasket når jeg har sett alle postene dine hvor du har vært ute med motorsykkelen så tidlig på året :P Ser for meg at det blir grisekaldt når du har god fart på sykkelen!

Hilsen @valth

Hei @Valth
