Fuck The Breaks

Fuck The Breaks

It’s so sad to see people that are still poor, that haven’t achieved their dreams yet but they still get home and watch a two-hour movie only because their McDonald's job tired them too much. You can’t do such a thing if you want to make shit happen.

Don’t get me wrong, some movies are all cool, I like to watch them now and then, and some even helped me a lot but if you still don’t enjoy your life entirely, if you’re just at the beginning of your journey you cannot afford to take breaks like that.

Let’s make some basic math, let’s say that you sleep the golden standard of seven hours per night and after you wake up it takes you one hour to get ready, those are eight hours already. Another two hours for commuting plus eight of work, that’s eighteen hours already eaten up.

So you remain with around six hours but if you spend some of that time with the family, your loved ones, probably taking a shower or doing some preparation for the next day you only remain with four or five hours.

Your program might be different, but this is a general program so for the sake of simplicity I’ll stick with this one. Let’s say that you only have five hours left in a day; you cannot afford to spend two of them just to take a break, you have to keep on fucking going even if you’re tired.

Fuck Relaxation

Look, if you already achieved your grand purpose, if you’re in a happy place you can take some breaks, watch a movie now and then but if you just began you cannot afford that.

In life most of the great things come at the expense of something else, having a girlfriend/wife means that you can’t fuck other people, having a house means that you cannot move anymore and pursuing success means that you cannot fuck around and waste your time.

The reservation of energy for later is mostly false, you can keep on going, and you will still have energy, I’ve done it, I’m not special at all, and you can do it too.

Don’t get me wrong, if you worked for eight hours nonstop in the factory or some hardcore shit like that, taking a thirty-minute break is good. Mainly if you watch a workshop or something that can help you in the field, you want to excel but to see a full movie because you want to relax it's just a waste of time.

You have to understand that your time is your most precious asset because it’s also your most limited so if you’re on a path right now you have to take care of it at any expense. Fuck it; I took it to the next level once, I even broke up with my girlfriend, even if she was all great and everything. Only because she wanted too much attention and I wanted to focus all of my time on Steem since I was in the beginning, but it is well worth it now.

You have to pay the price for greatness; you don’t have to break up with your girlfriend, cutting lose all the trivial stuff from your life that only steals your precious time should be enough.

What Now?

Even if you have enough time now if you maximize your day and got rid of all the worthless shit, you’re not done, this is only the beginning.

Now you have to put in the work, you will get lazy sometimes, but you will have to push yourself out of that state and still do it. To give you an example, at the time I’m writing this post, I know that tomorrow it’s going to be a busy day for me and that I won’t be able to write anything, so I decided to prepare something. Even if I was lazy, I somehow got to write four posts.

If what you want is the success on Steem, you will have to work more than anyone that joined around the same time like you. In those five hours per day you will have to make a shitload of comments, to prepare posts and to talk with other Steemians on the chats, so only you can attain success one year from now.

You will have to sacrifice some things, but it will be well worth it in the end.

So many folks are couch potatoes. They go from their work, home, eat fast food and crash in front of the TV. Even if they watch only 2 hours of TV a day, that's 14 hours a week they have wasted. You are right. Nothing will happen unless you make it happen!

Couch potatoes

LOL man I have never read that before 🤣😂😆

Sadly, most peeps are couch potatoes, wasting their time and life. Two hours a small number, a lot of them are watching even five hours of TV every day, that is huge.

Thank you for this epic comment. :)

I'm trying to check my payouts less and less.

I don't want to get demotivated as the price of steem and SBD goes down and let that keep me from working as hard as I am currently because I know this is just the dip before the next rocket.

Love the posts and thanks for the motivation. I feel like I've been killing it lately and using this to fuel me through the lack of sleep! My next step is to start setting up short term goals to make my dreams a reality and make sure it's possible.

Huh, I know what you mean, it's never easy to see something like this happening, I have a post that went from 117 to 100. :(

Thank you, I'm glad you like my posts. I feel the same; lately, momentum is helpful. Good luck man, I know you can do it. ;)

I am right with you @guyfawkes4-20! This is the difference from people who do well and do great. High performance is where it's at to be successful!

You're right my friend, high performance is essential. :)

I heard a lot of 'I am not lazy, just conserving energy' Before Steemit, it was from one movie series to another. But after discovering this platform, I realize an episode of a movie series can be a waste of a lot of time because the time can be directed to make a post that brings a lot of value to me and my followers. Interesting movies are now no more interesting. It now look like, I am a 'sit at home boring kinda guy'. Even before any outing, I ask myself. Can I take a nice picture or video or make a nice post outta that... I fucking love your contents and look forward to it

That's exactly how I think too; I can do so many valuable things instead of seeing a movie that it stops me from watching it. I don't even have the patience to see them anymore.

Haha, thank you. :)

Ironically I find myself reading this immediately after a 9 hour teaching day (no breaks) - the concept of wasting what precious little time I have left today on T.V. is horrifying!

My biggest bugbear is not having enough time after regular work to do my 'own work'. Still only a few months to go!

On the T.V being a waste of time thing - Mgrain's Un-T.V experiment is a great piece of sociology.

Huh, I know the feeling, it would be torture to waste my time on TV after getting home. Good luck with that, I have a few more months too. :)

I'll check it out after I finish my duties if I still have time. :D

It's an interesting read. I make an exception for TNG, and the World's Strongest Man once a year.

I don't agree with you on this you need breaks and distraction. I can't concentrate myself so long. I am more productiv if I work for 2h make an 1h break and work 2h again then if I work 5 h in a row. I think you need a good work life balance.

On the other hand I wouldn't count steemit as work.

I think you need to work effectivly not too much to achieve something and then you will also have enough time doing whatever you want.

Yeah, breaks the way you mean may be helpful, everybody's different even if I think that a one hour break it's too long. I like to work a couple of hours in a row, and the breaks I'm taking are not actually breaks but easier work. Here's a post about work-life balance I wrote a while ago.

I get what you mean if you're doing something that you like it doesn't seem like work. :)

I believe that the more Intense is the Feeling we have about achieving one thing, the faster we do achieve that thing!

And what your post is describing here, although with different words, is to be really Intense about the work you're willing to put into achieving your goal!

Great post @GuyFawkes4-20! Thanks for sharing :D

Long time no see, man, that's another way of putting it, I like it. Thanks for your comment. :)

Indeed my friend. It's good to be back. I'm in for the long run. I've been taking many breaks when I first started Steemit, and although I had some good Ideas, I've never put them to use. And that's what I had to change about my approach.

But yea. Really fucking good to be back. I forgot how great was to be part of this community. <3

I'm glad you're back man, you have to do it big time now! The community has grown a lot, so many great projects going on. :)

The only thing us people need to be breaking are the rules. Societal beliefs and convention of making money. We're branching away from that, and I believe breaks aren't something that is appealing to someone when they're on a journey that they truly believe in.

Thanks for the post @guyfawkes4-20 ! Steem on and fuck breaks yo.

This ship moving

you nailed bro! right to the point... if you wanna succeed you gotta go the extra mile rather then being lazy!

That's the spirit man, work weekends and never stop. Even if I was on holiday, I worked a lot more than usual. :)

thatßs how we doing it ... even more so if we love what we are doing for work :)

Cheers bro

Oh yasss, it's not even feeling like work most of the times. Getting paid for having fun. :)

Fuck Yeah! When you're following your personal legend, you don't need breaks.

Exactly! The breaks are overvalued.
