How to get more followers in steemit?
For a minnow or a person who is new to the platform, it's really very hard to get followers and you are right everyone says get engaged and all that but the reality is that it doesn't work out well and a person definitely need to apply some tricks and traits to get things moving forward.
One trick that I can share with you does require some decent amount of SP i.e. 250-500 SP so that your upvote has some cents value. We all know the power of upvotes right? So now when you get this power and you are ready to use it in the right direction then automatically you will have people following you.
So what I'm trying to say is that use your voting power to make an influence and motivate the person for his or hard work. So what happens is that your upvote influence will encourage the person to contribute more and get rewarded. They know that you reward for good work hence they will start following you.

It's kinda the same analogy where we have different people join various dApps and while contributing to the platform they get rewards via upvotes. So in the same fashion if you work towards rewarding people for their genuine work and without worrying about what I'll get for a stipulated time frame then you will notice that your fan base increases and ultimately resulting into more people following you.
This has happened with me when I was very new to steemit platform and people who rewarded me for my work - I was kind of very happy and followed them. So, I'm hopeful this trick of rewarding people for their hard work will definitely get you more followers.
