Ignorance is not bliss

It never ceases to amaze me of the fact that most of our misfortunes in life come from our ignorance. The idea that our failure will be, for the most part, a result of all the things we did not do because we didn’t know better at that time is nerve wracking.

At this very moment, you could be mindlessly doing something meaningless or harmless to nobody including yourself, only to wake up five years from now and finally realize, sometimes a bit too late, that this thing is exactly the iceberg that will sink your own boat.

The price we pay for our ignorance is very high, and the consequences are sometimes deadly; that’s why we can never take a vacation from seeking for new and better ways to do things in our lives. Otherwise, we’ll keep getting hurt and won’t know what to do about it.

As Jim Rohn once said, ignorance is not bliss, it is poverty, illness, endless frustration, the source of bad decisions, failed marriages and kids, debt, poor self esteem...

It’s better to have known, tried and not succeeded than to remain an eternal ignorant. Because the latter sets you up for a life of full of frustration, complaints, failure, and misery.
