Digitakt + 0Coast + Hades + Minitaur Workflow - Sketching a techno remix and first sequence in 16 minutes
Hello dear friends!
Here's the 40th video of my @DTube series:
*Sketching a remix in 16 minutes from zero.
This is a video where I show you my workflow. Starting from zero. Only using one sample from the original track. Original track is called 'Wicked' and was produced by Jorge Pérez Oviedo aka DJ CLASH from MOODULAB records. Be sure to listen to my latest jam recorded 13 days ago
Used the following instruments:
Elektron Digitakt, Make Noise 0-Coast, Dreadbox Hades and Moog Minitaur.
This was recorded today.
Remember this is a boring video if you are not into music production, specifically techno. This is a demonstration of how fast you could finish a first sketch if you really don't care about perfection. You see, back in the day, it took me weeks, if not months to finish a remix or an original track.
Why?
Because of always looking for perfection!.
Wrong! (at least for me). It got me nowhere besides never hitting the deadlines set by the label owners and myself.
After buying the Digitakt and, more importantly, letting go of the sense of perfection, a new world opened to me.
Taking things in a light way you are able to preserve the essence and force of a loop, which is the quintessential part of any underground techno track. What used to happen to me when focusing my production on a DAW, was that I completely lost the essence of that loop that made you think "wow this is the groove right here". When you spend more than an hour on a loop, you completely lose that essence.
If you have any questions about music production, or how did I record this jam, feel free to ask on the comments! :)
Gear used:
Elektron Digitakt / MakeNoise 0-Coast / Dreadbox Hades / Moog Minitaur
Sequenced from Digitakt
Multi-tracked into Ableton Live 10 (only for recording), using MOTU UltraLite as Audio Interface.
Come back every day for a new recording!
Be sure to like, comment and subscribe!. Your notifications keep me motivated to do this every day!

WOW that is some incredible sounds, was not sure what to expect at the beginning it really adds to the build up showing the whole thing start to finish!
Do you start with an idea or just what it works out into?
#OneLoveDtube
Hey @onelovedtube first of all thanks for resteeming and for your comment!.
I almost never start with an idea... But this time the only initial idea was to use a sound from the original track that this remix derives from.
In my common workflow, I always go with the flow :). To me is very difficult to convey an idea from my brain to the machines, much is lost in the path!.
What I do start with is a feeling. And I try to convey this feeling into the music. Maybe then we can consider it as an initial idea in some way?
Cheers

I didn't get to finish watching, but love what I heard!
Thanks a lot!!! Yes it's a boring video because it's just showing how I approach a new remix starting from zero. :)
Thanks for watching!
Cheers!
