Midnight at the foot of an old fortress in Greece
The picture was taken around midnight at the foot of the Accorint fortress. Through the different exposures of the individual pictures one can also clearly see the lights of the city in the background.
Since I am currently back on our annual Peloponnese around and I am mainly published single pictures. I don't have the time to write detailed articles.
What is HDR photography?
HDR recording - High Dynamic Range - high contrast range
HDR recordings: HDR is the abbreviation for High Dynamic Range and refers to images with a high contrast range. In contrast to the human eye, analog film material and digital sensors cannot reproduce such a large dynamic range. You know this: An image against light either correctly represents the sunlight and the sky, the subject in front of it is black, or the subject is correctly exposed and the sky is overexposed. The contrast range describes the bandwidth between the darkest and brightest areas of the image.
Getting a grip on the high contrast range
Normal recordings are called LDR recordings (Low-Dynamic-Range). HDR recordings have only become possible with digital photography and subsequent image processing. Due to the high contrast range mentioned above, HDR images often appear surrealistic, because the shadow areas show sufficient detail and the lights nevertheless appear brilliant and not over-illuminated.
