First Principles: Method Of Thinking
As humans, we think is various ways, and you'll agree with me that the way a man thinks, so he is. It makes me wonder, why aren't people taught how to think. It's almost as though the systems of the world were made such that, people will not think for themselves, but follow rules.
I can understand the reason for this, as there needs to be order in the system, if not things may become chaotic. But the truth remains that the men that make these systems that others follow, have learned to think for themselves. And so should you, if you want to make it to the top of affairs, and become a leader.
There's an amazing method of thinking called first principles thinking. This method of thinking helps you break out of the box. You're able to question the reasoning behind things, and you'll be able to be inventive and innovative. So what is first principle thinking about? Let me explain it in the simplest form.
First principles thinking is you thinking about the most basic truth about something. Instead of accepting what everyone says or thinks - you go down to the most basic truth about the subject, perhaps your business. And you start to reason up from there. It's like building a house from the foundation.
Many people don't care to understand the foundational ideas of their business. But real progress is made when you know exactly what makes everything tick. It doesn't matter the business or field you're into, you must first learn about the fundamentals of things, and why they are so. With this foundational knowledge, you can think more innovatively and creatively.

It is worth reflecting on the way we think and question things, since most of the time we simply listen to the rules imposed by society, by the government or by the words of a prestigious person. It is the nature of the masses, to follow, never to question. It is sad, but it is the truth and so the world is configured.

Very true what you've mentioned. And that's why thinking methods like First Principles thinking can help us have independent opinions of things we see around. And not just conform to already set rules without knowing the reason why things function the way they do. Thanks for commenting.
