Paul Simon - My Little Town

It's time for the biweekly/monthly

Paul Simon post! I was listening to him in the car today, so this seems appropriate. Paul Simon is, of course, one of the two members of Simon and Garfunkel, the songwriting duo whose music has come to define the latter half of the '60s. The two were at the absolute height of their popularity in 1970 when they split, and embarked on solo careers. Though I love Simon and Garfunkel, I think Paul Simon's solo albums are even better, and he really came into his own as an expert songwriter. With each album, you can hear the growth, as his songs became harmonically and structurally more complex, experimenting with a wider array of sounds and ideas.

Listen to My Little Town by Paul Simon here.

This song is from Simon's fourth

solo release, 1975's Still Crazy After All These Years, which was definitely his most mature and impressive album to date. This song was one of four top 40 hits from this release, along with 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover, Gone at Last, and Still Crazy After All These Years. This song is actually credited to Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel as it was written when the two were still together, though it didn't appear on an album until 1975. Art Garfunkel also helped produce this version of the track.

Enjoy today's song! Thanks for checking out my blog, and Steem On!
