Cannabis Grow #4 - FINAL UPDATE: Harvest and Trimming!

in #cannabis6 years ago

Photo Apr 30, 22 58 05.jpgThe nugs, hanging and drying. We have to be quick about jarring them up here, the air is so dry that they will be fully dried out within 3/4 days.

So, we harvested 2 days ago! There were 3 of us trimming this time, which was awesome, we plowed through the 6 plants in a decent amount of time. All in all, the nugs came out really great.

We did have some issues with burning/bleaching of the leaves due to the strength of the lights... this was the 2nd grow using the new light, but it was hard to even correct it for it, we ran out of space vertically in the tent essentially haha. Some of the plants got so tall, and we couldn't get the lights above a certain height, so it was really difficult to control. Lesson learned though, now we have a good idea about where to start the lights. All things considered though, everything looks pretty great.

When we jar them up/cut them into nugs, I'll be doing a little bonus update with some photos. I realized I didn't take any photos of the GDP mid-trim. It's hard to use your phone when you're covered in super-sticky icky lol. You can see the GDP in the photo above, and at the end of the post. Enjoy!

A nice shot of a nug of the Gorilla Glue, midtrimming.

A close-up of that same nug. The crystals look nice. Again, mid-trim. Don't hate, I see the leaves there still lol.

Another one bites the dust! Looks bomb bro. Ever thought about getting a humidifier and maybe consider not doing a wet trim to slow drying down a little?

Yes, we actually discussed a humidifier, we are able to keep some moisture in that tent as it dries by recycling the air, but yeah that was being considered for the next time around. Dry trimming would help a bit, but honestly, without humidifying, it's going to be just as dry, so we just opt for wet trimming. There is like, no moisture in the air here lol. Maybe next time we can dry some dry trimming too, see what the results are.

Yeah I’ve had it drop to 30% humidity in dry stage once and had to jar up after 4 days. Bud turned out good but definitely would of been better if it hanged longer. Sombody once told me to put a bucket of water in side the room. Never tried it though.

Sweet! Nice job just jar it with humidity pack and your doing awesome! Hell yeah wish I could try some!

Yep, jarring in a few days so I'll share some photos for you all for sure.

That's a good-looking haul :) I've noticed you trim wet. I used to do it too, but I don't do it anymore. It'll help to retains terpenes, but is definitely the way to go if your main problem is low RH. It'll let buds dry slower!

Yeah we have thought about dry trimming every time, we have actually dried some colas before without trimming, it didn't make much of a difference though, just too dry all year around in the desert here. Definitely considering utilizing a humidifier next time around.

hey sorry didn't see your reply. SoNev actually lol.
