Upper Iset Lake
In the city of Yekaterinburg on the Iset River in 1725 a dam "Platina" was built. The construction of the dam raised the water level in the river and created the artificial lake - "Upper Iset Lake".
The length of the lake is about 8, and the width is about 2.5 kilometers. The lake has about 20 smaller islands and several peninsulas.
The most famous peninsula is the "Большеконный полуостров" and it is located not far from the kayak club.
It is a place of rest and recreation for the habitants of this city.
There are several types of fish present in the lake, of which the most famous аre Common bream,Rutilus, Northern pike, Carp, Hypophthalmichthys.
Long cold winters and short summers limited activities on the lake. Also, the big problem of the lake is the proximity to the metal processing factory "Verh-Iset Factory", whose wastewaters are discharged into the lake.
Swimming in the lake is not recommended although some residents swim at their own risk.
