Playstation Plus Membership: Is it worth it?
I received 3 months for free when i bought my PS4 so I didn't see any reason to NOT do it. Now I find myself renewing my membership because it costs something absurdly low like $3 a month (I don't remember how much, but it was very low.) I don't use a great deal of the features in here but I personally can still justify the cost. It should be obvious why.

I rarely play online games because I'm not actually good enough to be part of a great deal of what goes on there. I am not really a fan of getting my ass handed to my by a 12 year old in a first-person-shooter or being derided by the same individuals who don't have jobs who are as mean as they are ever going to be in their lives (I was my meanest between the ages of maybe 12-17 years of age.)
So I don't play online games unless it is a friend or family member. I have never joined a public gaming area and I have no intention of ever doing so. So why do I pay to be part of the PlayStation Plus program?

Every month the network has 2 free games that you can download and own forevermore. It should be quite obvious that these games are not going to be the "latest and greatest" and in some months the games you are given are titles that have their new version coming out the following month. It should be evident why they would use this strategy.
Sometimes the games you are given can be a bit disappointing. For example: This month my two free games were a game I already own (Detroit: Become Human) and a pixelated platformer that absolutely sucks called Aegis.
So I groaned a little bit when this happened and then just accepted the fact that this months games are very unlikely to be useful to me. Then I just think about the fact that it cost me $3 to get to that point. I have now been a member of PlayStation Plus for 4 months and I have received 3 or 4 games for free that I actually enjoyed. Let's imagine that I actually paid for the first 3 months (I did not) but then my total investment would have been $12.

What remains of Edith Finch was one of the first free games that I downloaded and it is one of the most amazing games I have ever played. Therefore, I can conclusively say that yes, the Playstation Plus membership is definitely worth the $3 a month that you pay for it and I will likely remain a member is perpetuity.
It was worth it before the huge price rise and tbh now the games they give for free on PS4 are terrible another huge reason why I no longer renew my PSP subscription is because Free to Play titles are out doing blockbuster games. Warframe, fortnite, fishing planet, war thunder. I’ve pumped way more hours into free to play games than games that require a subscription I used to buy a yearly subscription but since it ran out at around Xmas I haven’t thought about renewing it.

How much was it before?

It used to be around £39.99 for a year but they raised it to £49.99 a year. For the 12 month subscription

Oh, it is cheaper than that in Thailand. I can see how people would have a problem with a 25% increase in price. Other than the free games I don't really understand why anyone would do it... can you not play multiplayer with your pals without it?
You can only play free to play titles without PlayStation plus so games like fortnite, warframe stuff that are in the free to play section you can play however you can’t play online on games like gta, call of duty and any game that you have to pay for

You know what's really a gut buster about the titles you got for free this month? How they swapped out a soccer game a bunch of people were happy to get for DBH, and they did it where it was one day over the 2 week return mark for all the people who just bought it during PSN's latest sale. Totally not a shit head move on Sony's part, nah.
Just a heads up, by the way. If you don't have your membership active, you won't have access to any of those game you're getting now. I wasn't aware of this when I let mine expire, so I haven't been able to play any pretty much any of my games on PSN since I don't have the spare cash to renew. It's been, like, 2 months since I've actually done anything on there. Not even sure why I keep the old gaystation at this point.
I was not aware of that but I can understand why they would do that. I recently started playing one of their free-to-play MMO's (it's sort of like a MMO) and so far it seems pretty cool... especially since "Tera" was apparently an Asian creation and a lot of the English in the game ALMOST makes sense but not quite.
There are lots of "surprise mechanics" in it and mostly it is extremely repetitive but I think it would be fun to play with friends.
I've never heard of that game, maybe I'll have to check it out. I haven't been on the PS4 lately at all just because of the lack of games I have and also everyone I've had on my friends list has apparently been banished to the shadow realm or some shit.
it's worth checking out... there are some bad aspects to it, which i will detail later but mostly i think it is quite fun for a free game.
It’s worth it for FIFA ultimate team alone.
