Chocolate Fingers – An Original Poem

as the distressed phone cries out,
hammering it's bell.
The desperate clang fills
the room until consoled
by bad jokes that make
grownups laugh.
that mysterious stove
glazed in a sugary don't
hiding treasure that can
only be discovered
with just a touch.
I conquered a don't
I was rewarded with
six bars of chocolate
and my fascinating toys
kept me up all night
as they battled over
Castle Grayskull.
and I can almost taste
that smooth and creamy
chocolate as I reach
high above feeling
around for my plunder.
through me as
ferocious teeth
bite my hand off.
I quickly yank my nub
from its grasp while
five frightened little Indians.
I run toward my mom
as the beast chases after,
savagely chewing my
fingers away.
in the art of everything
grabs the tub of ice cream
and puts it on my hand.
The pain melts away as she says
You can have a little
chocolate ice cream, but
don't eat the whole thing!
Nothing better than ice cream.
I could go for some cookie dough ice cream :)
