Is Trump about to Go Rogue?

Currently, Halsey News political analysts Tom Luongo and Halsey English are preparing a 4 part series and some broadcasts on this topic but we wanted to get the general points out there into Cyberspace to avoid others taking credit for our work (yes we are looking at you Jack Posobiec)
Since the publication of this article there have been many significant events that have shaped the political scene and forced President Trump to move forward with his plans. I believe that going Rogue is still the goal. Steve Bannon and Sebastian Gorka have left the White House to return to the media. President Trump handled the Hurricane in Texas. Paul Ryan has went full loony. So on and so forth. We will go into more details after the weekend, but the policy and political moves are substantiating our theory. Among them:
- Trump has put a Sunset on the DACA program but has said he wants Congress to enshrine amnesty for the DREAMers within the next six months. He has indicated he will continue the program if they don’t.
- He has went behind the backs of Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and Congressional Republicans by negotiating a deal for Hurricane Harvey Releif and a three month extension of the Debt Ceiling with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.
- He has campaigned for one of the most vulnerable Democrats in the 2018 Senate Race, Heidi Heidi Heutkamp (D-ND)
As I said, more details are forthcoming over the weekend but the general plan seems to be unfolding as follows:
- The Awan Mess, Hilary’s Book and Obama’s butting into national politics has threatened to keep the Democrats in the minority for a long time. The Russia, Racist and Incompetent arguments are not working. Schumer and Pelosi are realizing that they need to get out of the way or these scandals will threaten them and their party for a long time.
- President Trump was not going to be able to get any of his policy objectives met from the Republicans. They are basically holding him hostage until after 2018.
- What seems on its face to be a betrayal of his base (although his approval numbers are increasing among his base) is actually no such thing, just among people who want to doubt him in the first place.
- The plan forward has three parts I see before or after Trump declares himself an independent.
- President Trump agreed to either hand the Senate to the Democrats or at least make Mike Pence the deciding vote.
- Within the next six months he will get comprehensive immigration reform. The Wall will be built, the DREAMers will be afforded some level of compromise. The refugee program will be reformed well in Trump’s favor.
- Paul Ryan will either be out of the House or the Speaker’s chair but he will not remain.
- Trump will get a budget, one his base can live with
- Some Democrats will go to jail.

I think the deal he made with the Schumer/Pelosi was a strategic political compromise. To Democrats he will appear to be extending an olive branch to work with the other side of the aisle. All he gives up is three months of debt ceiling, which would have been likely anyway. He takes the government shutdown threat or speculation off the table. And he also pulls back a little more negotiating power for the more important parts of his agenda... like tax reform or Health Care reform (albeit much later down the road).
Trump had to do something to break out of the trap the GOP leadership put him in. Basically Trump whacked McConnell and Ryan on the nose with a rolled up newspaper. Extending the debt ceiling for only three months means it has to be renegotiated again in December, and at that time we'll see if the GOP learned their lesson or not. We're seeing the deal maker at work.

One thing is that the Democrats will not win the Senate next year. Republicans would have to lose 3 seats and they only have 2 vulnerable (Arizona and Nevada). There is no way they are losing any of their other seats, plus they only have 8 to defend as opposed to 25 for Democrats.
It will be difficult, but if Trump stumps for a couple or refuses to stump against vulnerable dems, that may be enough. Even if all he does is that and the Dems lose, that's not on him and any deal he made with Schumer and Pelosi will still be good.
Remember McCain, Graham and Murkowski could all flip.
If someone goes to prison it's all been worth it.
Interesting post. I a waiting to see what happens. I am not an American and have no particular political affiliation. I am a watcher of golbal politics.
This fits with destroying & rebuilding the institutions of the RNC & DNC. The "leaders" currently there are so very anti-american.
Bannon's statement in the 60 minutes interview that 2020 will be left populism vs. right populism is probably right. Pelosi & Schumer are political animals and they hope to hop on the wave of populism before they lose their job.
