It was 27F when my helper friend arrived. I offered inside work, but he was bound and determined to finish gardens. So out he went and finished the rest of the West garden and this New North garden.

Next was this small North Corner garden.

There’s not a lot left of this Old North garden. The usual Sweet William but when we looked at it to see what could come out, I found biennial foxgloves, and some feverfew had appeared! I’d had no foxglove last year, so was surprised to see these.

He’d come inside when he finished the Old North garden and I made him a cup of tea. Then he went back out and tackled the West Shed garden.

The last garden needing done, the East Shed garden, and he finished it well into his lunch time. I’d heated up his pork with apples and beets that he’d brought so he’d have a hot lunch. (I see I need to take that cement block out of the end of this garden.)

It’s great to be able to see these gardens again!

On the construction front, my husband did take another day off on Friday. He worked on the financial thing I’d been working on and we finished it. Of all the money we spent, there’s very little unaccounted for, something I didn’t expect! We’ve certainly made it go as far as we could.

I’d moved onto pricing up finishing each room and started with the kitchen. I set him to doing things like sheetrock and underlayment flooring while I drew up the back splash for the kitchen counters.

After lunch we went to the tile store and got a price on my favorite tile.

I started a sore throat and didn’t feel very good, so I was glad it was too cold to be outside. I can sit quietly and work on pricing when I am up to it.

Saturday is forecast to start out in the upper teens and not get out of the 30’s even though sunny. I doubt he will work in that cold.

Love that tile!! Hey, did you know that sage is good for sore throats? I'm sure you do, just interesting you said you had a sore throat right after a tile with the herb that'd fix it! Hope you feel better soon.

No, I didn't remember that! Oddly enough, my husband got me butternut and sage squash (a slide-y food) for supper last night. I also put a poultice of garlic pesto above my gum for the night. I've found doing so helps all kinds of things. Of course, I have my fire cider and elderberry and Vit C out too.

You are super prepared!!! Next year, when the sage is out, shove a heap in a jar and cover with ACV, and some raw honey if you have it. Honestly, it's the best thing for sore throats ever!

Duh! I HAVE sage, it lasts here into January. Tomorrow I should get some, as I have lots of our own apple cider vinegar. For the next time...

Yay, you will be prepared!!
