HipHop is Alive and Well!

For a long time now hiphop has been taken over by weirdos wearing skinny jeans and releasing songs filled with incoherent mumbling horseshit. Creativity and substance have been pushed aside in favor of simple bars and low effort rhyme schemes.

The new generation of "rappers" have sparked discontent with the older crowd of fans that remember when hiphop was a place to showcase skill and lyrical prowess. Many can't recognize the new shit but today I'm here to tell you hiphop is still alive and well!

That is the cover from J Cole's new album KOD. The project is full of insightful lyrics and it's a testament that good hiphop is still relevant, the album is selling well and it's been a breath of fresh air in the sea of lackluster songs of late.

This is also an incredible day for anyone who likes lyricism. Last night at midnight, Detroit rapper Royce the 5'9 released his new album "The Book of Ryan." I've only been able to listen to part of it but let me tell you it's fire! 🔥

I've been a long time fan of "Nickle Nine" and I've been awaiting this album for awhile. To tease fans yesterday at noon he released the single Caterpillar featuring fellow Detroit great Eminem. If you haven't already you can check out the video on YouTube

I couldn't get the link to stick but I would recommend any hiphop fans to check it out, it's trending already but obviously anything with Eminem is an attention getter.

Also on the plate is a new album by Styles P, while preparing this post I found he's got a new project out now aswell.

The former member of DBlock is pretty much an underground legend. His album won't receive critical acclaim but he's got a long history of slaying on wax!

So that's about it, I'm just super excited that all of a sudden I've got a ton of new music to listen to! I think I'll watch Caterpillar again and then load some hot new hiphop on my phone to listen to tonight at work! 🙌
