Antidote To Anger

Only a foolish sailor put to the sea when facing the violence of a storm. The smart thing to do when the storm rages is to wait and do nothing. Let the storm abate and the crisis will blow over. And it will become a thing of the past.

In the same vein, the best thing to do when angry is to nothing, say nothing. Just like a raging storm, a lot of negative energy and uncontrolled violence accompany anger. And after the storm comes calmness to see the reality and access the damage caused by the storm...anger operates the same way.

If anger proceeds from a great cause it turns to fury. If from a small cause, it is peevishness; and so it is always either terrible or ridiculous.

When you are angry, stay aloof from the situation. If you can't, then there is an undercurrent. Talk about it with someone close that will always be objective, tell you the truth and hold nothing against you. Doing this you may realise you are not totally devoid of faults.

Sometimes the fault or part of the fault of a situation that caused anger lies with us. It takes an objective mind to make us realise it. We all have that instinctive tendency to transfer blames to others and be angry with others when we suffer the consequence of our own misdeeds...

To begin to live a happy life, it is very important to understand yourself. You live a happier life when you start understanding your fellow men. You have to understand others since we are just a tiny part of a vast world. Some quit things they have spent time to build or organization they worked in for years because of anger but it does not affect the tree much for an apple to fall off it. Control your anger, don't let it control you.
