Saved To Be Witnesses

My reflection from the book of Acts contn.

Let's reflect today from Acts 5:17-25

Go and stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life. 20.

The Apostles were not discouraged by the threats of the Council, so they continued witnessing Christ. The Council, filled with jealousy because of how mighty signs and wonders were done by Peter and John arrested them in prison.

The Lord freed the Apostles and gave them a command (v 20). They entered the temple to preach at daybreak (vv. 20, 25).

What rare courage, what rare boldness! The outstanding event in this passage is the Apostles courage to continue teaching, but one key thing to note is the fact that they were freed from prison to continue preaching.

We too have been saved by the grace of God to be witness to Him in the world. The hallmark of a saved soul is soul-winning.

Are we living this command?

We need to plead with the Lord, to give us fresh burdens for souls and to pour fresh fire upon our lives, so that we will proclaim the gospel message to a dying world.

Prayer:
Help me Lord, not to selfishly hold on to my salvation alone, please help me to share the good news with the perishing.
