Historical source and historical fact /part 2/
The third kind refers above all to the ways and forms of reflecting the objective reality in the source. It is precisely in terms of this third species / syntactic / that one of the most extensive classifications of historical monuments and sources of the gnosiological point of view is carried out. four types of sources are distinguished: substantive, written, pictorial and phonological. These four types are in turn used as a basis for further classification at second level.
For example, material sources can be divided into different types, namely: architectural monuments, domestic, religious, related to the productive activity of people connected with the economic life of society, related to political life / stamps, coats of arms /. On the other hand, the written monuments (the second species) can be divided into at least two types, namely: first-class written documents, inscriptions, contracts ... / and written memorials of the second genus, memoirs ... /. by the same logic, the pictorial monuments (the third species) can be divided into several types, namely: pictorial graphic, pictorial artistic, pictorial nature. Phoenician monuments are also classified into different types depending on the bearer of the sound information.
To these sources can be added today another source or so-called. visual ones that provide visual information about certain events and processes from the past. These are cinema and photo methods / pictures, cassettes, diskettes, discs /.The diversity of historical sources today is the cause of the emergence of a number of special auxiliary historical disciplines such as: Paleography studying the material and form of the old scripts; heraldry / explore stamps /; diplomacy / government documents /; epigraphy / ancient inscriptions /; numismatics / studying coins /; chronology and metrology / studies the chronological systems and measurement measures /; archeology / study of household, architectural and religious objects /.That is why it is not right, as some people thinks, to see the subject of history only in historical sources.
Next, from the point of view of the way the information exists, there are two types of information and two types of sources, namely: oral and incomplete information. Bearers of the first are the people who still bear a memory, and the second are the various substitutes. Furthermore, since the information contained in the various historical sources can not always be immediately included in the turnover for the simple reason that some sources are difficult to submit to decoding from the point of view of the possibilities of the age, all sources can be divided into two types: current and potential historical sources.
