THE SKILL OF SET INDUCTION.

The most important duty of the class teacher in achieving effective lesson delivery is working hard at gaining the learners' attention and sustaining it. The beginning of a lesson matters a lot to the total lesson delivery. The ability to gain the learners' attention at the on-set of the lesson maximizes the learning result and reduces the workload of the teacher during lesson presentation. It also enables the learners to adapt their mental abilities to the total instructional package without unnecessary stress. When the learners are able to key into the basics of the lesson, it is possible for them to follow the development of the lesson.

But on the other hand, if they have to pick up pieces of information mid-day into the lesson for lack of being carried along at the initial stage, they may end up without achieving the intended learning outcome. The teacher needs to be equipped with various working skills that enhance his ability to provide a stimulating and challenging learning environment that can accommodate the learners' differences and ability to learn. Thus the need for the teacher to establish a common experiential atmosphere for facilitating the learner's mental alertness justifies the inclusion of the following subsections namely:-
