CONTROL YOUR DIGITAL TONGUE.
When the word digital is mentioned anywhere the first thing that comes to ones mind is computer, some people may even think as far as the calculator, phone, iPad etc. The dictionary defines the word digital in so many ways but I'd prefer this, which says:- Of or relating to computers or the Information Age. It is the opposite of analog, so in other words if someone or something is not digital that means it is Analog.
Now why the word tongue attached to digital. It means if you can't reach out or perhaps get to talk with someone verbally you can say it or still pass the information to the person via the computer, internet, phone, iPad etc.
Having develop this fact let's get to talk about your digital tongue.
The Bible quote thus us in James 3:5
5.Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth.
Now the tongues is a little member or part of the body but yet it is capable of setting a whole country, city, nation ablaze if it not rightly used. When the devil looks for a way to pull a man down via his secret he begins to ask questions so that the fellow can freely share or give out vital information about his or herself just as he was able to woe Sampson through Delilah. Let me shock you a bit perhaps the devil's effort to pull Sampson down would have been futile if Sampson was quite and never let out his secret? The devil would have toiled and toiled before and would not have succeeded unless he found another means of pulling Sampson down.
Let me pause and say that many of us let out our secret on the social media platform via what we post, we are about travelling to China, we post on Facebook, Instagram, watsup or what have you. You even want to buy a new phone you post, you want to buy a new car you post it, you live your life virtually on he social media platform, or don't you know that not everyone is happy to see you happy or succeeding? I ask how are you using your digital tongue, your digital tongue is the internet and what you post there. There was actually a rape case in my country Nigeria where a girl was murdered and killed in the church when she went to read. A young man was apprehended by the police because of his post and comment in relation to the rape case, now tell me will he tell the police that it if was a joke, I doubt if anyone will believe him even if he is Innocent.
Several people have missed good and nice opportunities and Job offers because of what the post on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. Some companies go as far as checking your friends on the social Media platforms, the groups and people you follow, the comment you make on other people's post etc. It's so funny that this post or comments must have been done or made years back.
Apart from the tongue created by God to aid tasting and fluency in speech making your digital tongue (internet) can hand over or deliver you to your enemies or cause you to be entrapped by them? If you didn't know better known it now.
Sometimes we as Christians (me inclusive) has in one way or the other in a bid to boast let's out our secret to the enemy, not every testimony is worth sharing yet in the public, like the social media platforms or even in the church, especially if it not yet complete.
So many young women that are up to the age of marriage hasn't married till now due to how the showcase their engagement party online and a bad friend turns back to destroy or scatter it by either cooking up false stories or uses charm to get the suppose husband to her self. Please let's be careful who we share our good news to and also be mindful of what we post, share, comment online, it goes a long way to show the kind of person you are. May God help us, and may he also give us the wisdom to know what to say and what not say at all times. Amen.
