Step by step on how I made a new tote bag design with leather braided hand.
Good morning everyone,
I bring to you a new bag design I just made. Since the corona started I've not really made any new bag because I have limited materials on ground and I could not buy from my buyers. But then I decided to work with the available materials I had left. I sketched out the bag design and I estimated measurements that will bring out the shape I want. One thing is to sketch, another thing is to have the right measurements. Because I don't have pattern for the bag all I go do is hope the measurements will be right. Below is a picture of the measurements and sketch I made.
MATERIALS USED
- Leather
- Magnets
- Ruler
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- Biro
- Pencil
PROCESS
- First step is to measure the point on the leather, join the points together with a ruler and cut it out.
- I braided the rope for the handle (rope is with the measurements of 0. 5 by 45inches)
- For the design in front, I made 10lines (3inches wide and 0.5inches apart) and cut neatly with blade.
- I then gum a piece of the leather I cut initially (11 by 4inches) with the part I cut above, stitch it from outside then use a tiny rope to complete the front design.
- After that, I stitched the braided handle with the bag.
- Then I repeated the steps above for the other side of the bag. The next thing is to attach the sides of the bag ( 15 inches by 5inches) to the main bag.
- The last process is to turn the inside out and attach the magnet to the middle top of the bag.
FINAL LOOK OF THE BAG.
