In Russia want to block VPN services

No, of course I was expecting this for a long time, because when something can be bypassed, the other side begins to think - and how to cover it?

A couple of weeks ago in the Russian Parliament was registered a draft law on amending the ban bypass block sites (through VPN services, proxies, and other ways).

The representatives of the major parties want to oblige the services to bypass the blocking of sites, to block access according to the register of special state authority - Roskomnadzora. Interesting of course, to oblige the services to do what in nature and used VPNs and so on.

And of course, as without it, for failure to fulfill the aforementioned requirements - to restrict access to the services for a month!

As usual, it is accompanied by the explanation that such measures contribute to the reduction of possible terrorist acts and other crimes.

Many are beginning to wonder what we must look for other ways to bypass locks, but I have serious doubts of how to work the law in case of its adoption? I think "lawmakers" once again decided not to bother to solicit the views of experts on this issue.

Ran over the lines of the bill and understand, Roskomnadzor will have to obtain information from hosting providers about the owners of VPN services and anonymizers, and has more demand driven services to block access to specified according to the register of sites!?

Not to mention the fatal contradiction in the diversity of concepts: a VPN is used to bypass the lock, from the VPN which is used by private companies solely for commercial purposes.

I presume most VPN services (as they are outside of our jurisdiction, foreign country) will simply ignore any requirements, not to mention the small, private variations, and TOR. And then Roskomnadzor will have to include in the register all the addresses of such services offenders.

Thus blocking the address of one VPN, the new one will appear within a few hours, it is a struggle with "windmills", the path to the isolated internal network country...
