Japan has banned fresh reactions on North Korea. Like earlier restrictions, their motive is to pressurize Pyongyang to stop the nuclear program.

Japan's chief cabinet secretary, Yokihide Suga said that "the properties of 19 institutions and individuals will be frozen."

On the target of Japan, there are 210 organizations and people from some countries including China and Russia.

The businesses which have been included in the list of sanctions include banks, coal and mineral trade and transport companies.

This decision of Japan came just ahead of the United Nations Security Council meeting on Friday.

Unprecedented threat to Japan

Japan said that since North Korea has left its Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) in September, Japan is facing an "unprecedented threat."

Japan has already placed several restrictions on North Korea. These include restrictions on the use of trade and ports.
