THE CONDOR IN EXTINCTION
In a visit I made to the state Merida.Venezuela.al paramo of the stock, specifically in the valley of Mifafi.
There is a condor in captivity, under the custody of the CIVIL ASSOCIATION OF BIOCONTACTO.
The inhabitants of there say that this condor has left him free but he returns to his initial place. For he has already lost the sense of leaving this valley.
As is our knowledge, this flying bird is the largest and heaviest on the planet, weighing between 9 and 16 kls.
When they are young their plumage is dark brown and when they are adults black with a white collar on the neck.
Monogamy is present in them. Therefore, each pair puts an egg that takes between 54 and 65 days to incubate.
One of the reasons for its disappearance has been without a doubt the hunt, the environmental deterioration and the decrease or local extinction of Andean hervores.
