Hello recruiters and HR managers. I have to ask you this, because It just looks unproductive to me. Why are you sabotaging yourselves with limits like "4-6 years on similar position"? I can understand it when you are trying to recruit a CEO, but I see this a lot on middle/senior roles. Do you really think a professional with 4 years experience on a similar position will come to you and start all over again? And if you manage to find this candidate, what would you think of him/her? Because the only way someone will accept the same position after 4 years, in a different company, is that he/she got fired or had a horrible relationship with the previous manager. So, do you really want to hire someone in that situation? Is it the previous manager's fault...is it your new employer's fault? Will he/she create problems?

And how much enthusiasm will someone have in this situation? I am leaving my company to start working with another company, on the same position like the past 4 years. Will I go home and tell my wife "Hey, dear, guess what!!! I will do exactly the same thing for the next 2-3 years...and I am getting a 20% raise! Wohoo!!" Really? Or will I just be that complacent guy who needs money and hey...it's a job, I hate Mondays, whatever.

Please be honest...what would you think about a person that comes to you and accepts the same position in a new company, after 4-6 years on a similar role?
