My homemade Burger Buns 🍔

Hi everyone!

Yesterday I saw a video on the youtube channel of Vincenzo Viscusi, an Italian guy who lives in Germany with his wife.

Usually he tries his hand on Neapolitan pizzas, I would say semi-professionally (in fact, the first times I saw his videos, I was convinced he did it at work).
This time he wanted to try the recipe for Burger Buns, the tall and fluffy pub type that you all know for sure.

The process and the result made me very excited and so, today, together with my wife Alessandra, we decided to prepare them.

I drop you the link to the video here, so that, if you want, you can also try to replicate this recipe.
The video is in Italian language, but all the ingredients and the necessary procedure are written in the info, so you can easily translate them. In addition, they also explain a little secret to making your buns super soft.

So I told you that in the afternoon we worked on the preparation of the dough and left it to rise for 2 hours. Then we formed the loaves and let them grow for another hour.

At that point we baked our buns and after 15 minutes they were ready.

At sight, really interesting...we were very happy.

We let them cool before stuffing them, but in the meantime I wanted to open one to check the inside.

Very good result!!
The crumb was soft and even inside the cooking was perfect.

So, after a few minutes we went to the filling and tasting.

seasoned with mayonnaise, salad, vegetable burger, Sicilian cherry tomatoes and cheese.

This, however, is mine.

Inside there are also mayonnaise and vegetable burger (we are both vegetarian). Then there are fried eggplants, barbecue sauce and cheese.

I must say that the result was surprising...I don't know what you perceive from the images, but I assure you they were really good!

They have the softness of the brioches, but a more robust consistency and therefore remain compact without breaking but without even being heavy.

Maybe tomorrow morning I'll try one with Nutella...😁 I'll let you know!!
