This year's champs

It has been a year since I joined steemit following my multi marathon run.

This post is a glimpse at the continued story of the ripple effect.

The team created in partnership in with my friend Kevin.

We travelled the country together, I ran for him last year, and we developed a great friendship.

This is a video of me finishing consecutive marathon number 5.

The voice you can hear is Kevin's and the fabulous redhead who catches me is my friend Kayleen Johnston, co-founder and executive team member of Bravehearts.

I was hurting pretty bad, but had no understanding of the damage I was doing.

Last week as Steemit rallied around my husband and our family after he spoke of my illness.

This year's Bravehearts777 Team were on tour with Kayleen again supporting everyone.

It was a week of mixed emotions for me.

I'm proud to report Belinda and Sam completed the challenge and are recovering well.

Sam was the first to register this year. Without her initiative our efforts last year would not have become a legacy.

Kevin, Mark and Vicki caught up with them on Day 6.

Mark with zero training and the lungs of a man in his fifties (who quit smoking just the day before), completed a half marathon distance for me. I was registered for the event, but as I wasn't able to attend, he did it for me.

Kevin wore my bib number (No. 88😊) as well as his own, and along with his lovely bride Vicki, he walked the half marathon distance.

They supported Sam and Belinda.

Something I wish I could have done too.

But I also have a great sense of pride and accomplishment watching Kevin with the team.

When I met Kevin he was looking for a way to use his experiences to be of benefit to others.
I'm proud that our partnership gave him that opportunity.

To see him on tour without me, and receiving so many messages from people about Capt'n Kev and watching videos of a very different man makes me proud.

Mark under estimates his impact and worth.

I wish he knew the man I see and love as a brother.

I would have liked to have been there to remind him that he is every bit the leader Kevin is too.
I have never met anyone who can just smash out a half marathon without any training!
He said, when you have survived what I have, a few hours of physical pain is nothing Sissy.

Bel and Sam went on to finish the Gold Coast Marathon the next day.

Bel wore my number 88. 😍

She had six hours and 40 minutes to complete the run. She was trailed by the pace car and apparently entertained the crowd that lined the street yell,
Some guy is following me in his car, can someone tell him to bugger off!

She was joined at the finish line by Kayleen and bravehearts777 veteran Megan.

She crossed the line with 2 minutes to spare.

She gave her Gold Coast medal to her coach Victor

She has a way of starting out on day one with a number of the team disclosing they are survivors, and regardless of the week they have, everyone not only survives, but finish feeling like WARRIORS!
