This weeks theme is to write a rhyming poem about what you are thinking about most at the moment.

I wrote this at work today.

As I'm at work and on my break,
My love my heart for you does ache.

Summer holidays are here,
My darling child you should be near.

Though I tried my best to shirk,
I'm still obliged to come to work.

To care for other people's kin,
I must don my mask and grin.

My thoughts of you my darling child,
Were always with me as I smiled.

A brief phone call is all we've got,
Until I arrive at three o'clock.

As I step inside our home,
I will swear that you have grown.

Although it's only been a day,
I'm sorry babe I went away.

Even though I've given all,
For you my dear I'll find some more.

For you the energy will muster,
Like a storm my heart will bluster.

As the skies above they clear,
It's always sunny when you're near.
