Inktober. Day 17 Theme - Swollen. And a collaborative opportunity.
A quick five minute doodle for inktober.
I love when these themed community oriented initiatives come around.
They give structure to the ambivalent types like me.
They are a great opportunity to engage / re-engage in creativity and posting, and are very inclusive and encouraging of everyone having a go.
Today's theme is -
Swollen.
Maybe you would like to join in.
Here are the official themes.
#inktober is an initiative that is being embraced across many social media platforms.
I came across a steemit creative collaborative initiative that I think needs some exposure and participation.
It is hosted by @scrawly and @veryspider (two very talented steemit artists).
Round two of the contest is currently under way.
Check it out.

In Team Of Two you are asked to team up with a fellow steemian and.. BE CREATIVE TOGETHER!
Perhaps one person creates an art work and another an accompanying story or poetry, or one illustrates then the other colours, or perhaps you are a photographer who has the perfect shot to be augmented by a graphic artist. Or maybe you can actually get together with someone and work on a piece in the physical world, you know, old school interaction...
But for many of us this is not possible
Which is why steemit is great! It connects people with fellow creatives and together we form our own little communities within the platform, of like minded folk.
Last round I noticed some people didn't start off with a buddy, but posted their work to the contest conversation and put the call out for a collaborative companion.
There has been a lot of talk about the recent fork. I have witnessed a few forks over the past 2 years, each generating conversation and strong opinions.
I don't get involved in the forking talk.
The connections and creative collaborations and interactions are the enduring force.
Look beyond whether you generate a few cents or a few dollars and do your thing. Let this be more than the rat race of life.
If you can, let steemit be an extension of your creative persona rather than the essential persona of the daily grind.
I never look at the trending pages. That is not where I find artist, people with interesting stories, communities of real people. If you don't look you are less likely to be so caught up in the inequity.
Post a little something for this contest and find a new buddy instead!
Or head over and give it a little uppity of encouragement or a resteem.

You never know. It could be the start of something great!
@littleblue and I are going to create a piece together, (My 4 year old.)
He doesn't like me drawing on his masterpieces I wreck them, apparently.
This may definitely present a challenge.
