Black Bird CrysteemCreated with Sketch.

Sacred as a chapel hall,
No distraction from the haunting call.

Three AM a reverent hour,
Void of sunlight's blinding power.

They cut the tree gave you no mind,
I see you there beyond the blind.

Alone you perch upon the bend,
The down pipe now your home to fend.

Solitary Currawong,
Somber is your lonely song.

Each night I join your midnight plight,
If you saw me too would you take flight?

Every night I see you there,
Unmoving as the summer's air.

So many of you those trees held,
They vanished when your homes were felled.

Lit by the moon your form is cast,
Static as the time is passed.

Like you I sit here waiting too,
Hold vigil til night is through.

As you take flight I feel forlorn,
The spell is broken with the dawn.

Pray fortune finds you on your flight,
Should you not return again tonight.

That is a great looking crow and poem to boot!

Boom King - Hi!
Thank you, I have been very lazy lately.
Thought I'd commentate my night, it is late / early in my part of the world.
Thanks for checking it out.

Hello! You are always welcome. I flipping love crows. Awesome drawing

Yeah I am actually bird phobic, but there is something about a crow. They're not like other birds they are other worldly, I love them too. Terrified of sparrows and pigeons but love crows.
I wrote about a Currawong, which is an Australian bird, bit like a crow. Often mistaken for the evil dive bombing magpie, but much lovelier.
But nothing beats a crow. My spirit animal sure, if I were to buy into such things.
