"Socrates theory about Knowledge"

in #writing8 years ago (edited)

Good morning to all !

Few minutes ago I came across of @jockey's post ,check it here about false information and how to distinct them.

It immediately reminded me the Socratic theory about knowledge which is simple to apply if you follow simple steps. I wish these methods been taught in schools as they can be great supplies for a human's life .
Check the video below:

Till next post ,take care!

Didn't he say that to know your self is the first and most profound step towards knowledge?

I'm not sure as he used to say that " I know one thing. That I know nothing" and this was making him questioning everything.

I was paraphrasing. This is from the internet that I googled: Socrates says, as he did in Phaedrus, that people make themselves appear ridiculous when they are trying to know obscure things before they know themselves. Plato also alluded to the fact that understanding 'thyself,' would have a greater yielded factor of understanding the nature of a human being.
