Never won a lottery before, but this time we got lucky!
One of the most beautiful places in the states and only 20 people allowed per day, 10 are selected by a preregistration through the internet, the other 10 will have to subscribe for the lottery in the visitor center. Because we did not pass the preregistration, we went to the visitor center and got lucky as last couple! We could go and see "the Wave". A sandstone sculpture shaped by rain and wind, like I have never seen before!
But lets do a little math. 20 people per day visiting, means in one year only 7.300 people are allowed in this area, where you can find the wave after a hike of 6 miles. This means that the same amount of people who visit a ballgame in the bigger soccer stadiums in Europe, once a week, that amount is allowed to visit the wave the coming 10 years!! Wooooooot!
