Street Lamps - Old and New

Three Street Lamps

Out and about today I went in search of an interesting street lamp to post for @erikah's Seven Day Outside Challenge.

However the ones in the area we were walking weren't especially stunning. I think I'm going to have to go further into Brighton to find the ones I had in mind.

I was surprised to discover, however, that there were a number of different designs within a few minutes of my home.

This one is the oldest, I think.

This appears to be a combination of old and new. The original lamp post at the bottom with a new top.

And this is the most modern one I saw in this area.

Not hugely inspiring is it?

There are some better modern ones though. I'll need to remember to take some pictures of those. 😁

I really like your streets (and street lights too). The first and second photo is a beautiful panorama of the city streets.

I'm very used to the streets around here @madlenfox but every now and then I try to look at them like a visitor might. And then they are very grand! 😁

Oh, it's the same in my city. When I just go on my business past the outstanding buildings, and tourists at this time admire and photograph these buildings. I think it's very common, because I see these buildings every day. Sometimes you need to look at them through the eyes of tourists and also admire. The second photo shows a very interesting building with Bay Windows. Beautiful!

That's one of the reasons I love having visitors. You get to see things through their eyes.

I think your city and mine are similar in lots of ways. Having a lot of beauty and history. 😁

Knowing how popular lampposts are with urinating dogs and drunk people, it's probably the last thing i'd want to chain my bicycle to! I choose lamppost number three though :)

you choose lamp post number three for what @seanreilly - to chain your bicycle too?

no need. There are plenty of bike racks if people could be bothered to use them! 😁

Haha! Just that it was my favourite lamppost of the three :)

Really? It's my least favourite @seanreilly? 😂
