I would think you have to go and find out beforehand what the costs per package would be and then add it into the price.

that might be a bit complicated though with people living all over the world @positivexposure. it would be OK it I only wanted to sell things the same size and weight each time but it would take a lot of work for one offs.

Plus there's the risk of being out of pocket if the Steem price drops. That's one of the reasons I've not made it a priority to look into so far. 😊

Have you sold stuff through it?

not yet but I will market my book through it and charge in USD. Yes its a risk if the price drops, but if it goes up?

Are you writing a photography book @claudiaz or non-fiction or something else? 😁

I compiled a book a few years ago on alternative / healthy products to use around the home, for your health, beauty and your pets. However I not published it yet.

If you list your pice in USD you won't risk getting caught out by fluctuating crypto value.

And for postage, this is something you can discuss with your customer. Some people may want recorded delivery while others may be happy with standard postal service. The important thing for your sales post is that people know your general location and the weight of the product so that they may calculate shipping costs themselves.

Thank for the tips @samstonehill. I've made a note of them. Have you been using Steem Shop successfully in this way? 😊

I created @steemshop over a year ago with a much more complicated system which seemed to detract from people using it. In recent months however this system has been dramatically simplified and an awesome team has arrived (@claudiaz is a big part of our team) and we are currently in the opening weeks of the new and improved system.

So, to answer your question, I have not personally been using @steemshop to buy or sell anything. Though I am quite sure I will be soon. While there may not be too many people using it at the moment, word spreads fast here on Steemit and in time there will be many.

...and as you know it is always better to be amongst the first users of any new emerging idea ;)

If the general location and weight is given in the product post, the buyer can figure out the prices for themselves.

Hope to see you in @steemshop ;)

Ah! After clicking through to check out @postitivexposure I realise now who this is! haha, excellent.

Here one person can be many people ;)

Indeed! hahaha, had you confused! I replied from the incorrect account and only realised it later. :)
