Color Challenge - Friday Sky Blue - i360
Towering Sky Blue
The i360 capsule in Brighton is looking stunning today against a brilliant blue sky.
The viewing pod rises 138 metres on the world’s tallest moving observation tower and you don't even have to go inside it to get you money's worth.
The reflections on the underside are a view to behold and I never tire of watching them change, as the pod, moves up and down, on a day such as this.
There are benches on the promenade that you can lie on to get a really good view.
Of course, the views from the pod itself are wonderful on a day like today too.
I'm pretty sure that the visibility would be such that you could see as far as the Isle of Wight, as well as the usual splendid panorama east and west along the South Coast.

Wow! great shot against the blue sky. I didn't know that Brighton had such a landmark. (By the way, you missed out the 'r' in Brighton!) I have not been there in about 30 years.

The i360 is a pretty new landmark. It only opened in August 2016. Most locals, myself included, weren't very impressed to he honest because, a lot of the time, all you see is the tower sticking up without the pod.
But it has grown on me. It's amazing how photography does that for you. Gives you a different perspective.

Oh, I can understand that about the tower sticking up. From our back yard we can see a cell tower which some company built with the expectation that cell companies would rent space on it I think. It didn't happen, so there is just a tower sticking up! But that's not all! It was damaged during Hurricane Irma last year and has not been repaired yet! The only good thing about it is that the bald eagles like to sit on it to survey the land!
Oh that doesn't sound good @dmcamera. I wonder if the company that built it will just let it rust into the ground. In the meantime you will just have to enjoy the bald eagles as much as possible. Are they there all year round?
The eagles are always here, yes. They are great to watch. I should get some binoculars! The strange thing is that all around it they are building and selling homes at $450,000 and up! Our community fought the building of the tower at the time, saying that there was not a need as we had plenty towers around. I think it has been about 5 years now! LOL! At least you can take a ride on your tower! :-)
Yes. The ride is fun and, as I say, I'm learning to like it now. Also, we have the great views in the bottom of the pod so we don't even need to ride it.
It sounds like your eagles would make good subjects for a few Steemit photography competitions. 😁
The eagles would be good subjects if I had the proper lenses. My focus has always been on macro type photography, so have never had much need for powerful telephoto lenses!

If I remember rightly @jbn, it was opened in September 2016. It was around that time anyway. We celebrated New Year there last year as it was a big birthday for me. That was really special - being at the top of the tower watching all the fireworks across the city. 😊
