Good question! Let me give you a scientific answer to it.

Our tears come from the nasolacrimal duct or more commonly known as the tear duct. It carries our tears away from the lacrimal sac of the eye into the nasal cavity. The tear duct itself begins in the eyes socket between the maxillary and lacrimal bones.

Whether we are crying or our eyes are just tearing, the water comes from the same process and place called the tear duct or gland or lacriminal glads which are found on the lowe eye lids.

If you look closely at your lower eye lids, you will see a tiny hole. The tears flow in and out from there. They are tiny tubes tht run across the eyes and the nose. That's why when we cry uncontrollably, tears make their way out of our nose.
