Achievement 3 | Steemit content Etiquette
Hi, steemians. Good morning from Nigeria and welcome to my bost once again. In my previous post, I talked about the steemit security system as my achievement 2 task. This is my achievement 3 task which is actually talking about the content etiquette of steemit.
What is Plagiarism?
Plagiarism to my understanding is an offense of copying other people's work without their consent. It is not even an act of borrowing, it is purely stealing because the work was actually copied without the original author's consent. It is an act that should be strictly followed with a penalty if anyone indulges in it.
What Is Citation?
This is when you give a reference, notifying your readers that the very line of words that was cited is not your original content, rather, it was borrowed from the link included in the citation. Example
Whether you’re looking for sweet love messages for her to write on her anniversary card or want to send a cute love text to him just because he’s on your mind, these love messages for men and women are so romantic, they’ll make your partner melt.

Types Of Plagirism
There are many kinds of plagiarism today. below are a few of them.
- Deliberate Plagiarism
- Mosaic Plagiarism
- Self Plagiarism
- Accidental Plagiarism
- And Lots More....
How to avoid Plagiarism
Avoiding plagiarism is very important as an author. The reason is that if you are caught in the act, it can damage your image in your field. This is why it is very important you abstain from it, and you can do that by citing a source in case you want to add other people's content to yours. See other ways of abstaining from this act.
- Paraphrasing
- Do not copy and paste
- Make Use Of Quotation Marks (" ") (' ')
- Make Use of Plagiarism tool
Cause of plagiarism
Plagiarism is a wicked act and sourced from the acts of laziness, some content developers lack the ability to research adequately and such it will result in copying the whole content produced by the original author. Other novice authors may want to copy because they feel they don't have all it takes to think and build ideas.
In Summarization
Plagiarism is an act that the entire steemit community detests, so it is highly important you crosscheck your own article before you publish it, this is because your written article can be duplicated somewhere else. So the need for plagiarism tools would be needed for perfection. Thank you for reading my post. See you on my next task.
