Things you don't learn in school! How to cope when you fail.
Have you ever failed at something in your life?
I bet you did, and you possibly felt terrible after you did not succeed. You are scared to try again because you are scared to fail again!
We don’t like feeling disappointed at ourselves, and we all want to be successful in whatever we do, but sometimes we lose faith in ourselves, because we get tired along the way and we just give up.
Do you know that there are many other people that feel exactly like you do?
There are many people who have tried but they did not succeed, but that did not let them just give up! These people believed in themselves and they pushed through all their failures and in the end they still succeeded.
One of Thomas Edison’s quotes makes a lot of sense!
He said:
“I have not failed. I just found a thousand ways that did not work. “

Life is full of ups and downs and we can’t always get things the way we want it. We all want to better ourselves and be successful and this is not an easy task. Hard work really pays off and even if you don’t reach your goal the first time it is important to try again.
We are often motivated and then when something doesn’t succeed it might be time to go back to the drawing board.
If you are working on a special project, it is important to focus on a specific task at a time. The saying: “Rome wasn’t built in one day.” is very true.
If you have a specific goal in mind, it is important to break up your task into doable sections. Set a realistic goal for yourself and don’t rush things. If you rush something, it is almost certain that you will not get the desired result.
It is VERY important to have balance in your life. Even though you might be motivated to reach your goal as quickly as possible, remember that you still have a life. All work and no play really makes Jack a dull boy.
Life is rushed enough as it is and our days are filled with hundreds of little things to do every day. Remember YOU are just as important as it is to reach your goal. Make sure that you take time for yourself each day. Even if it is only half an hour per day where you take a good break, shut down your brain and just relax.
If your mind is clear it will be easier to focus and you will get much more done.
If you are working towards a specific goal, set aside time for failures. Nothing works perfectly the first time and know that there will be failures in between.
In the end, it doesn't matter if you reach that goal today or tomorrow, you will still reach that goal. You might just enjoy the end result more if you are not tired.
Here are some tips to help you cope with failures in your life:
1. Remember that a failure is only a stepping stone towards success.
2. Failure is not the end of the world. If you fail it is important to get up and start again. If you fall off a horse, you have to climb back up immediately.
3. Embrace your emotions. You might feel crappy for a while but life goes on. Do not go and find temporary solutions (like alcohol abuse), as it might let you feel even worse and these solutions do not take the failure away. Find a healthier option to help you feel better. Try going to the gym to get rid of all your frustrations but don’t put yourself under more stress than necessary.
4. Recognize your mistakes, and try and find a way NOT to do it again.
5. Talk to a friend. Sometimes friends can help us in a way that not even a therapist can.
6. Don’t develop unnatural towards failure. We all fail at some point of our lives, and it is NOT the end of the world. Don’t think that you are a bad person just because of one little failure.
7. Learn from your failures. It is important that you learn from your mistakes. If you experience pain because of a failure, you don’t want to go and do the same thing again, just to put yourself through the same misery again.
8. Take responsibility for your actions.
9. Create a plan to go forward. Look at the reasons why you failed, and work from there.
10. Face your fear about another possible failure. You might fail at something else, but that doesn’t make you a miserable person it only makes you human.
No one in life is without issues. Take it one day at a time and try your best the next time!
Life is like using a hammer to drive in nails. sometimes you miss the nail and it hurts like hell, but saying "golly gosh" doesn't work, so you have to try again, this time you know to take more care, until the next miss,
In time you learn how to do it without too many misses
