Things you don't learn in school- How to care for animals and nature

In the world we live in today, it is important to start looking at preserving our natural resources.  We are so busy in our daily lives that we don't take notice of much that goes on around us. Pollution is getting worse and plastic is taking over the world.

We all see what is happening but do we really care enough to do something about it?  The most important question today is how the relationship between humans and nature can be improved? Where do we even start?

Every living being on this earth has a little place in the ecosystem and there is a specific reason why everything were created this way. The whole world is connected in some way.

Many organizations go out of their way to encourage resource and environmental protection.  Humans have finally realized that conservation for the future is of vital importance and one crucial thing is to really understand the relationship between humans and the natural world. Everyone needs to develop a caring, emotional and empathetic relationship towards animals and nature.

Current efforts by zoos, as well as aquariums worldwide is astonishing and the impact these organizations make upon their visitors is amazing.

What can you as a normal human being do to help conserve nature and the animals for the future?

1.  Become more aware of what is going on around you!  If we don't start working together now to become more conscious, the world might end like a bad science fiction movie where everything is dark and cold and earth is no longer viable to live on.

2. Every little thing that you do towards helping nature, can help contribute to save the world. Start by looking after your own pets. Make sure to sterilize your pets and to keep them clean and healthy.  You chose to take in a pet so it is of utmost importance that you look after your pet to the best of your ability.

3. Stop polluting.  Try and use Eco-friendly products and stop using plastic bags. Many animals are killed on land and in the oceans due to plastic pollution.

Support organizations that put in effort to reduce waste.  One such organization started collecting Eco-bricks.

Follow this link to see what an amazing idea this is and to support them because in turn you are doing your part to save the world.

4. Use animals and nature to get rid of stress.  Numerous studies have shown that animals can have a great impact on the well-being of children. Animals are used to help people through traumatic experiences and there is nothing healthier than to take a walk in nature.

Just look around you and smell the roses. We have a beautiful earth to look after and what if everything that you see now is not accessible in the future? What if you wake up one day and there is nothing to look forward to.  Is that what you want to leave for your children and their children?

It takes nothing from you to be kind to animals or nature. You don't have to change everything in one day, but each and every little thing that you do to help, adds up and can help preserve something for the future.

We in NZ are joining the anti-plastic movement.
Single-use plastic shopping bags were discontinued 4-6 months ago and has worked well. [as long as you remember to take the multi-use bags into the shop when getting the groceries]
We have also got some trial stretches of the road made with plastic as a major ingrediant.

I just hate the paper straws although I grew up with it....have you tried drinking a milkshake with a paper straw?

As a kid, when I was drinking milkshakes, that is all there was. You had the choice, paper straw, or, white moustache,

That is really wonderful and lovely, thanks for sharing

Well said @giantbear if the suituation get worse there is a doubt in life of future generation.

The government should need to take serious step in demolishing the plastic usages. In Tamilnadu, southern part of India government banned the plastic usages and we are enjoying the reduction in plastics everywhere.

Hi @erode it is wonderful how everyone realized suddenly that they are messing up the earth so badly with plastic. Here in South Africa we are very aware and they make use of the ecobricks to build houses which is cheap to use and people have better houses. Plastic straws are no longer in use here either.

That sounds great 😊
