Freaky Friday - Your motivation for the day

in #life9 years ago

Like every other morning I woke up just before 6 o'clock to write my blog.  I set my alarm for 5h45 and then I have my morning ritual before I finally sit down to start writing.  I feel much more inspired early in the morning and I'm much more alert than later in the day.  But today was different.

On my way to the bathroom this morning I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror.  Staring back at me was a totally different person.

When did I become so old?

I literally went from twenty four to forty five in one night!  I don't feel older....but the signs are definitely there. I don't have many wrinkles but my goodness, I found a grey hair!!! No, let me rephrase.  It is not a GREY hair, it is a WHITE hair!

I have never been bothered with age and believe that age is just a number. You only act as old as you feel. But turning grey is a different story. What does that mean?   Is it time to start planning for retirement?

It is NOT that I feel older, because sometimes I don't even feel like a grownup. I still want to play with Lego's and I still want to tell my children stories, and sometimes I just want to lay on the grass and look at the clouds and make up little pictures in my head...

BUT this grey hair made me think of my real age this morning.  It set off a series of thoughts and it left me with a few real questions.

Have I reached enough goals in my life?

Have I made enough of a difference in other people's lives?

Does life only really start to make sense after forty?

We work too hard and life passes by. Let this weekend be different. Be a child again this weekend. Don't look in the mirror and lay down on the grass to see pictures. Don't forget to live while you still have the chance. Tomorrow might be too late.

One day when you wake up, and look in the mirror, your problems might not be solved as easily as mine with a plug of a tweezer.

May you have a blessed weekend!

Still young at heart😁

We have to grow old , but no one ever said anything about growing up ; )

Yip. Old but not yet cold...today made me feel terribly old though...thanks for the help with the sound in class though...you are a genius!

Great work my dear

Glad to hear you're keeping your youth! I still love watching cartoons and eating cereal on Saturday mornings; and I'm 24 but I can still imagine doing this at 80! Haha great post, thank you for sharing! Followed:-)

Never stop doing things you love. Thank you ...glad you enjoyed it. Happy steeming!

Agreed:-) thank you.

The trouble is they keep growing back. There must be some sort of magnet that attracts them, get rid one and next time you look there is two,

Ha ha...yip, but hair color will have to take over the duty of the tweezer soon...lol!

They even wrote a song about it
Silver strands amoungst the gold
Or similar

Everyday is always a new day.. Just happy steeming!

Hey you still feel like 25 - thats awesome! Be in the moment and you feel like a child your hole life! I think you made something right the last 45 years :)

Wish my hair was like yours only starting to go grey now. I started going grey at 29. 😜

Wow, great morning routine. Well to age, the grey air point usually format the theory of age is a number. So sure you would can something done about that. Great piece

I will try to engage in something childish this weekend.

The main problem I think we all have is that we acquire more and more responsibilities, and that these gradually take up our time, but also keep drawing our focus. when I was 14 years old I might have laid down on the grass and thought about nothing, nowadays, I could still lay down on the grass, but somehow, thoughts of preparing dinner, and filing my tax forms will probably try to seep in.
