Trivia HQ game: Money laundering?

A while ago, an application was created currently available on IOS and Android, the application called HQ Trivia caused a huge interest in people, the peculiarity of this application is that through a trivia if you choose all the correct answers you can get to earn you an amount of dollars that will be distributed by each person who manages to answer correctly, for example if you re rifle 2000 dollars and win 2000 people, you would give a dollar to each person.

The above explained is to put them in context of the function of said application, I am not inviting them to download it or anything like that, I am not doing any kind of publicity, only I am very curious to know where this application gets the money to water it like that without getting anything in return or that's what makes us believe, because the application does not have advertising either.

After having read several websites, I could see a page which indicated the amount of money that raffles in the application and that the capital of the application is millions of dollars, the question is because they are "giving away" that money, Can there be any factor that people really do not know? , also I find it quite strange that I do not see any way of winning the application.

In my personal opinion, I think that in some aspect there should be a profit or maybe they will put publicity on it, because really by playing the only publicity that they do to follow the Host of the Twitter program where I doubt they can obtain such amount of money, but If they are not gaining in advertising aspect, then they should be getting some benefit such as personal data that they can then use to sell it or anything or maybe is a very crazy idea but maybe just maybe the founders may be laundering money...
