I spend 12 years of my life in school. I sat at a desk day in and day out like a zombie listening to someone else teaching me something I had no interest in. Not to mention I had NO interest in the subjects, the subjects presented was given to me and imposed on me as to make money in this world. I had to learn stuff just to make money, education in school had nothing to do with EDUCATION of the human/person and LIFE in general. Everything was about fear.

School, as it exists now, is literally existing as a manifestation of insecurities. A design based on fear and survival. Why do parents send us to school? There are many reasons and they are all because of fear and insecurities, never mind the design and what the schools are teaching.

We are sent to school in the fear of not being programmed/educated to fit in the system and making money, thus the starting point of school and sending kids to school is that of fear and insecurities. The other reasons are because our parents are working and need to make money so we s the family can survive and make money to buy stuff and do stuff, thus again fear and insecurities.

It is a system design, and no one is to blame, we are all in different positions and locations in this world, and accordingly, we must be practical and realistic with ourselves, which is what our parents did to send us to school. It is all really sad and the reasons are really sad that we live in an insecure and fearful world for why we educate our children and sending them to school, and why school exists as a factory to shape and mold children into products for the system to make this system continue and function. I believe we can all agree that the world as a whole as a result of this system isn’t very nice, so why would I want to make my child a product of a system that fails billions and destroys its own planet?

I went to school and had a reading and writing problem, which is called Dyslexia. The schooling system failed to see this from an early age as I was just one of the 40 children in the classroom and had to deal with everything myself or ask for help, if I had the courage, I would get bad grades and many times I would fail papers and even just simple reading in school or counting numbers. I would get laughed at and at times I would be extremely emotional while sitting in a classroom where I could not make out anything at all and the teachers would simply yell at me or suppress my problems, Like I was just too lazy or not putting enough effort in.

Through this I already saw myself as a failure in the eyes of the system, I will not make it, I will not survive like the others, This lead to me acting out as a failure, which meant I started developing behavioural problems, which would disturb the entire classrooms and even get me in detention and so forth.

Other kids enjoyed school, they enjoyed getting high grades and learning and listening to the teacher and studying hard, the 10% in the classroom would succeed due to their passion for learning anything, and I must say I envied them at times and wished I could be like that.

I grew up in a small town with literally 600 people in it, and about 40min away from the nearest City, I LOVED nature and would spend my days out walking and finding bugs and snakes and playing outside in the fields, since I was a very young child. I developed my abilities with my hands, art and being creative, I was regarded as a good natural leader with people in school as people always seemed to naturally LIKE me, but in school in class in the subjects, all of that didn’t matter at all and would never get me to pass and make it through school, my natural abilities were considered NULL in the eyes of the system at that time with what subjects were imposed on me and given to me as MUST haves to survive and make money. So I supressed my natural skills for a long time and regarded them as useless due to not having any immediate value within school. Except to get kids together to cause some trouble, or to stop fights, or to support and assist dozens of people like I was a psychologist. But no one saw that and I could not get marks for that to pass school.

When I was 17 I left school to do home-schooling, as I knew that if I stayed in normal school I will fail and perhaps become so depressed and angry and frustrated that I might just harm someone or something. I had a LOT of anger issues developing during those years due to not succeeding in anything school related and NO one helping me with my reading and writing problems (dyslexia). I didn’t know I had dyslexia at that time, I just thought I was a broken human being, and no one else gave time to really find out why I was struggling.

I have overcome my “dyslexia” a lot since then FYI – as I realized that is had all to do with emotional imprinting from school in the first few years of learning to read and write and where the people I was around didn’t support and making sure the foundation is stable, but rather emotional through HOW they helped me which wasn’t very nice. Yes unlike other children I already had a bit of a reading problem before school, but that could have been ironed out if directed correctly, which I have done for myself now as an adult and can comfortably write in English, being my second language.

I am an unschooler due to being a conscious student of myself and child, and also because I can now see the whole design of this system and that if we continue with school as it is, we are continuing to re-create the world as it is, which isn’t best for all life, we need to seriously focus on HUMAN development and potential and then that will shine on in what we do, who we are as people determines everything.

School and how it is currently setup, is mainly teaching children how to NOT be humans but rather how to be robots that will one day have to beat each other and compete with each other to survive, how to group together and only serve a few and fuck the rest, which is a survival system, a fearful system, instead of one of give as you would like to receive, do onto another as you would like to be done onto.

I am also introducing myself as an unschooler parent/Father as I know and understand the system and the setup of this world, our daily lives of survival and conflict with what we want and what we have to do, or simply what is more convenient, and I know that there are a LOT of parents out there or right here that would LOVE to do unschooling or are already., yes we are still within this system and how it functions, but that can change if we make it so, if we are willing to change life for real and not just survive.

I moved to a farm about 9 years ago, and I have started living on this farm in a community setup with many people and lots of houses and animals and so many other things, I have seen that this is also the paradigm shift in living that we all need, to move more into community living and doing parenting and unschooling in such setups, as they are more ideal and supportive, not to mention the self-sustainable qualities that can come with within also bringing direct living change to this world from who we are, to our outer living and experience.

This is the Community I live on. As the First Earth Haven Project

I have decided that I want to setup and build MORE such communities around the world, I am talking about hundreds and even thousands, for this I started a Crowdfunding campaign called Earth Haven, it is inclusive of everything that we need to change and want to change, and I know it works, because I have been living this for 9 years and now raising my child within this setup has been ideal and perfect. Thus, as I am in this process, I would like to invite every unschooler that supports everything alternative to support me in this creation and to create a world that we would not only life for our children to grow up in, but to also live in it.

I want to change the world, and I am reaching out to everyone that is with me.

Please check out this link to creating more self-sustainable communities around the world and where we can raise our children and unschool them in a truly awesome way and a sustainable way for all life. I have set up a Foundation and on Patreon people that are with me makes a monthly pledge of 1$ or more, I would suggest to make 1 Dollar pledges for each family member, as each dollar is a vote and every dollar matters to bring about this vision of the future for family, parenting, schooling, living and all in a sustainable way.

Congratulations for following your dreams. I was one of those who found school relatively easy, but the school system failed miserably for my husband, who is actually quiet brilliant, and he has been dealing with the scars ever since.

I completely understand what you mean about formal schooling.

I was utterly bored in my classes. Most of what I learned came from what I personally was interested in. I wish I had pursued some of my desires from back then, like designing digital circuits.

But no, the conventional school system dulled my desires and I only recovered them after I was out of the ancient method of "teaching" students knowledge.

What I find is that schools don't teach the "meta" tools that you need to acquire information, to think rationally and to critically analyze something. If you can do that, a lot of things become accessible because you understand theory instead of rote memorization.

Thanks for the post, it was an interesting read.

Thank you for sharing your story a bit here, it is cool to hear that I wasnt just making things up back in school days, when someone shares the same kind of experience.

From Father To Father, Excellent Work!

Congratulations on Raising A Free Soul!
